    2. Hot and airless?
In the 30’s here in BC’s wildfire zone and the AQI is 8 (which is one heck of an improvement over the 49(!) we had last week).
Still, sorry for your rain, you can send it here.
      We’ll trade.

  2. Love that ferry — coming chug- chugging round the headland from Agia Roumeli at about 6 in the afternoon it sort of announced it was time to get off the beach and head up to the Seaside cafe for a beer.
Couldn’t make it this year, but unfortunately I just heard that the son who recently took over the Oceanis from his dad then gave Maria who’s been running it for about 15 years the push after she hesitated over taking a pay cut (and he put the prices up). Hard times even there it seems.

    1. Is that ririkas son? Wot a basterd. His gran will be turning.
I first came here in 95 and it were same ferry with same time. I think everyone uses it as a end of beach day gauge.
It’s our last night tonight and we’re off to eat in Moni. The food is fantastic and cheap as chips. Really great. And added bonus of mental 4 yr old bonkers child to provide all the entertainment.

      1. Don’t know the relationships exactly, only that his dad lives back in Athens. Ririka’s is the place next door with all the flowers. His gran would presumably be the ‘old Maria’ with the bronze bust on the patio.
Still not nice, though Maria and her bloke have apparently got another job in a pizzaria/ cafe down the end by the Lyricon.
Hope you had a lovely time anyway — have a raki or two for me. It’s the best place for bonkers four-year-olds.

      2. Ririka is Marias daughter. Don’t know if Maria had a son or not.
Bonkers 4 year old leads an idyllic life barefoot and only a pair of underkeks. Wild little imp and proto comic genius.

  3. Thanks, I should know, I’ve had these inctricacies explained to me before and I always forget.
Anyway, your photos put a smile on my face even if I can’t be there. Temperatures just about getting back to bearable here — which is just as well, as there’s no bloody sea!
